Both Sides is full of fine performances from start to finish, with a thoughtful selection of songs and dance tunes from the Scottish and Irish traditions, arranged with complex textures of harp, flute and cittern. The production is also unusually rich for a folk CD with a warm generous sound that adds that final touch of class. Rakes Progress (Folk Magazine).
Very fine instrumentals and songs from seasoned and experienced musicians. Their debut album, Both Sides, has old favourites (Sheebeg and Shemore, King of the Faeries, for instance) as well as some songs and tunes written by Jon. A CD that you`ll enjoy for its relaxing and beautiful Celtic atmosphere. Shire Folk (Southern Counties magazine).
A perfect sound for a lazy Sunday morning in the garden or a meditative candle-lit evening. A spiritual dimension is added to the usual Celtic sound by the complex instrumental interplay and rich vocal harmonies. BBC Radio Oxford
Moonrakers provided fabulous music for our wedding, both in the church and at the reception. The magic sound of the harp, flutes, guitar and what I call `real tunes` made the day so special for us. Darren and Becky Griffin, Shropshire.
So many people said the music in the marquee really lifted the event. Apart from sounding great, the band also look so good! Keith and Anne Barrett,Oxfordshire.
Moonrakers provided music for our corporate clients at Jesus College, Oxford. They played beautifully during the meal, and then came down from the gallery to sing us a song during coffee! Magnificent! Claire Mitchell, Elite Events Ltd.
